The following images and words are offered for your enjoyment.

The poems are from The “And” Principle by Bill E. Goldberg. They

appear in the following chapters: The Human Drama (Love and Loss);

Like Mosaics (Strength and Vulnerability); A Small Opening (Movement

and Stillness); and A Panoply of Color (The Wind and the Reed).

THE HUMAN DRAMA

We are so scared of getting close,
and we so need to be close.

Therein lies the human drama.

LIKE MOSAICS

We are all like mosaics,
broken pieces,
whole pieces,
all uniquely shaped,
each beautiful,
designed for lessons
to be learned.

Each one,
coming together,
to form a new whole,
an artistic expression,
a re-configuration,
a dignified beauty,
forged from sweat and toil,
joy and celebration.

A SMALL OPENING

An immense melting glacier
sits atop a mountain of stone.
It finds a small opening,
and that is all it needs
to enter inside.

It cascades down with a powerful force,
careening against cavernous walls,
forming a magnificent river below.

An entire river comes through a small opening.

And so in life,
taking a risk
can create a small opening,
that releases a possibility
to enter a whole new world.

A whole new world can come through a small opening.

A PANOPLY OF COLOR

A panoply of color,
an alchemical rainbow.
The earth has become flowers.
Exquisite scented roses.
Yellow petals tinged with pink.
Deep royal reds,
expressing love's heart pulsing passion.
An unfolding swirling design,
that like a spiral galaxy
beckons us into its core.
An inevitable flowering,
a celebration of life's wonder and beauty.
